From kelp cove to coastal casino resort
Bangkelian takes its name from the headland's original fishing settlement — a sheltered cove where local crews harvested kelp and traded from timber jetties. When the Lindqvist family opened sixteen blackjack tables in a restored pier warehouse in 1994, the brief was simple: build nothing that could exist anywhere else.
Three decades later, Bangkelian spans the full headland — a glass-and-sandstone casino floor, four restaurants shaped by Queensland produce, ninety-six suites oriented toward the Pacific, and twelve purpose-built venues for weddings, galas and corporate functions. Every guest arrives in person; every experience happens here, on the coast.
